Polyclads without a muscular ventral sucker posterior to the female genital pore. Tentacles, when present, nuchal. When present, marginal or submarginal eyes form a band; not limited to two clusters on the anterior border of body. Pharynx ruffled; intestinal trunk extends anteriorly beyond the pharyngeal chamber. Copulatory complexes situated in hinder half of the body. Uterine canals extend anteriorly from the vagina. Life-cycle direct, or indirect involving Götte's larva.
