Polyclads with a ventral sucker placed behind the female genital pore, and more or less centrally. Pair of tentacles on the anterior margin (except Prosthiostomidae). Eyes in each tentacle or along the anterior margin of the body; eyes also in a single or double cluster in the cerebral region. Pharynx 'ruffled', bell-shaped or tubular, in anterior third of body; intestinal trunk extends posteriorly from the pharynx. Copulatory complexes in anterior or middle third of body. Where known, life-cycle indirect: larval stage represented by Müller's larva.
