Leptoplanidae with a delicate oval body, often cuneate, sometimes with a pair of nuchal tentacles. Eyes arranged in paired cerebral and tentacular clusters, which may be disposed separately or in an elongate group on either side of the cerebral organ. Pharynx centrally placed. Genital pores united or separated, some distance from the posterior end of the body. Male copulatory complex lies anteriorly to its aperture; seminal vesicle muscular; interpolated prostatic organ swollen, with smooth epithelial lining; penis-papilla variously developed, sometimes provided with a stylet. Vagina simple, usually with Lang's vesicle; uterine canals confluent anteriorly to the pharynx in fully-mature worms.
