Description:
Body 9-10 mm long and 6-7 mm wide. Dorsal surface yellowish-orange, without papillae or tubercles, but marked with a number of regularly distributed white spots. Marginal tentacles are small, but distinct. Numerous eyes are crowded into two, quadrilateral, elongate cerebral groups merging with tentacular eyes (C. maculatus-eyes). The pharynx is short; intestinal trunk with seven pairs of lateral branches.
The male copulatory complex lies partly beneath and partly behind the pharynx; the penis-papilla is large and pyriform. The uterine canals bear several pairs of vesicles.
Habitat:
In the Laminaria zone and on compound ascidians in depths to 60 m.
