Planocera folium

Description:
The broadly oval body bears two slender nuchal tentacles, which are situated in the second quarter of the body length; the tentacles are retractile into shallow pits. Adult specimens may reach a length of 35 mm and width of 28 mm. The ground colour of the dorsal surface is pale yellow or yellowish-brown, dotted with white and veined and reticulated with brown. The gut branches are ending in marginal dark spots. The eyes are disposed in cerebral and tentacular groups; tentacular eyes form a ring at the base of each tentacle; cerebral eyes in two clusters between the tentacles.
Details of reproductive system are not known; life-cycle not known.

Habitat:
Living in the coralline zone.

Distribution:
Berwick Bay. Records also from the Mediterranean.
